5 Skincare Faves For Right Now – Never Say Die Beauty

I tend to stick with products I like for a long time, but sometimes certain times of year call for specific skincare products. It’s still cold and wintery here for another couple of months, so I am choosing skincare products that hydrate and protect. You may be familiar with this quintet of products if you follow me regularly. Nevertheless, I hope many of you will find something new or compelling in today’s post.

My Current 5 Skincare Faves

  1. Korres Black Pine 360• Eye-Lift Super Serum: This eye serum has been in my stash on the regular for about two years. I try to stockpile these tubes when they’re on sale at Korres, a natural and organic brand from Greece. I use Eye-Lift Super Serum all around my eye area, but it’s one of those products that helps me keep my eyelids from drooping. Very helpful as far as I’m concerned. I use Korres Eye-Lift Super Serum twice a day before I use eye cream.
  2. Thrive Causemetics Bigger Than Beauty Defying Gravity Eye Cream: Bigger Than Beauty is the skincare wing of Thrive Causemetics that was introduced a couple of years ago. Originally, I was sent this fantastic eye cream from Thrive’s PR person to try out for review. Because of the airless tube delivery system and the incredibly effective formula, Bigger Than Beauty Defying Gravity has become the perfect partner to the Korres Eye-Lift Super Serum. The two products together definitely help me defy gravity.
  3. #OOTD Intensive Face Serum: I realize that I’ve been writing a lot about #OOTD Intensive Face Serum, but I really and I mean really like it. It’s a concentrated serum with several different forms of hyaluronic acid to help keep moisture in, and it has Vitamin C too. The Vitamin C is why they suggest it for daytime use, but I use it in the morning and at night. The serum absorbs quickly and works well with moisturizer and foundation. Plus, it is affordable. If you have dry skin, consider it!
  4. Purlisse Blue Lotus Daily Moisturizer SPF 30: In my Ipsy bags and boxes over the years, I’ve gotten about a million products from Purlisse, an American skincare brand started by a young woman from Chinese-American heritage based on Chinese skincare formulas that her grandmother passed down to her. The Purlisse product that I seem to go back to most often is the Blue Lotus Daily Moisturizer SPF 30. Oh darn, it looks like the moisturizer with SPF is discontinued! Why did they do that? It was the perfect balance of hydration and daily sunscreen that was medium weight with no white cast. Boo. I still have a little left, but you can’t buy it. They do still make Blue Lotus Cleansing Lotion, Eye Cream and Balancing Moisturizer, but I am annoyed that they discontinued the sunscreen/moisturizer!
  5. #OOTD Peptide Skin Barrier Cream: Earlier this week, I wrote about #OOTD Peptide Skin Barrier Cream. It’s the bomb. It’s heavier than my other barrier creams so it’s perfect for the cold and windy days of winter. Plus, it strengthens the skin’s barrier with ceramides and peptides, and that’s important year round. Like OOTD Intensive Face Serum, it’s very affordable.

While I am at it – especially since one of my faves is no more , I must mention a 6th product related to skincare that is one of my all-time favorite purchases!!

  • Blush Beauty Wristbands: I bought these awesome microfiber wristbands at Marshall’s to wear when washing my face so that water doesn’t run down my arms and get my clothes wet. Honestly, how did I live for so long without these inexpensive but completely necessary beauty accessories? Especially if you are short like I am, just get these. You’ll be glad you did! But now, it looks like these wristbands were a closeout at Marshall’s. At any rate, another brand is sold on Amazon for $3.99.
