REN EverHydrate Marine Moisture Replenish Cream – Never Say Die Beauty

Barrier strengthening facial skincare products are certainly having a moment. In fact, a big moment. It seems like every skincare brand has come out with one over the past couple of years. Recently, I told you about my two favorites for autumn, winter and spring, but here’s another one that would be perfect for summer.

I received REN EverHydrate Marine Moisture Replenishing Cream in one of my Ipsy/Boxycharm boxes over the past few months. As usual, I started using it and then had to test out another brand of moisturizer and forgot about it until recently. What I realized is that it would have been perfect to take with me to Costa Rica! REN Marine Moisture Replenishing Cream is a lightweight gel-cream that comes in an airless pump.

In fact, when I first tried it, I thought it was a serum. But it is a moisturizer, and for the warm weather or even shoulder seasons like early autumn and late spring, it would be perfect for my dry skin. Even now, if I am using a serum and I don’t feel that I need a heavy moisturizer over it, REN Replenishing Cream makes my skin feel hydrated, soft and smooth.

Here’s what the UK brand has to say about their barrier strengthening cream:

“…Lock in moisture for longer with a rejuvenating algae-activated complex of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, clinically proven to deliver up to 48-hour defence from dehydration and help repair the skin barrier.

Powered by a moisture-maximising matrix infused with pioneering water-retention technology and sustainably sourced Algae Extracts this lightweight, yet rich, water-locking cream floods skin with moisture — then traps it on the skin’s surface — to intensively replenish and deliver relief from dehydration deep down† when, and where, you need it most. Cellular pectin from Hydrating Freshwater Plant delivers instant and long-lasting hydration to help smooth the appearance of fine dehydration lines. Freshwater Microalgae boosts skin’s resilience and helps to protect against water loss. Hyaluronic and Polyglutamic Acids replenish the skin’s moisture reserves. REN’s Hydra-Smart Technology locks in moisture for longer. Suitable for sensitive skin and eczema-prone skin.”

I like the fact that this barrier cream hydrates skin for up to 48 hours, though I would seldom go that long between cleansing and re-moisturizing.

Although REN Marine Moisture Replenishing Cream has fragrance listed as one of the ingredients, I don’t smell any scent.

Ingredients: Water), Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glycerin, Betaine, C15-19 Alkane, Propanediol, Pentaerythrityl Distearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Maltodextrin, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Saccharide Isomerate, Parfum, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Citrullus Vulgaris (Watermelon) Seed Oil, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Gluconate, Plankton Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Natto Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol, Citric Acid, Spirodela Polyrrhiza Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Benzoate

REN EverHydrate Marine Moisturizing Replenishing Cream is priced at $44 for 1.7 fl. oz./50 ml and can be purchased on the REN website or on Amazon. Although not as inexpensive as some of the barrier creams I’ve mentioned, it’s still not crazy expensive. Nevertheless, I’m glad I got it as part of my 6 month a year Ipsy subscription!
